Gydts type optical cable

GYDTS optical cable is a ribbon-type, loose-tube fiber optic cable with corrugated steel tape armoring, designed for high-density, outdoor installations in aerial, duct, or direct-buried environments. Structure and DesignGYDTS cables consist of 4, 6, 8, 12, or more fiber ribbons placed inside a loose tube made of high-modulus material, which is filled with a water-blocking gel to prevent moisture ingress. A central metal strength member provides structural support, while the loose tube and optional filler ropes are helically stranded around it to form a compact, circular cable core.

The cable is further reinforced with double-sided corrugated steel tape (PSP) and encased in a polyethylene (PE) sheath, offering excellent mechanical protection and environmental resistance.

Key Features

High fiber density: Ribbon configuration allows mass fusion splicing of multiple fibers simultaneously, improving installation efficiency. Waterproof and moisture-resistant: Loose tube filled with thixotropic gel and water-blocking fillers ensure reliable performance in wet conditions. Mechanical strength: Corrugated steel tape armoring enhances crush resistance, rodent protection, and overall durability.

Flexibility and ease of installation: Loose tube design allows easy drawing, splicing, and cleaning, reducing installation costs. Standards compliance: GYDTS cables meet YD/T 981. 3-2009 and IEC 60794-1 standards for optical fiber ribbon cables.

ApplicationsGYDTS optical cables are suitable for aerial, duct, and direct-buried installations, particularly in high-density networks such as metropolitan area networks (MANs), backbone networks, and fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) or fiber-to-the-building (FTTB) deployments. Their design supports long-distance transmission and high-speed data transfer, making them ideal for modern telecommunications infrastructure.

Advantages

Low attenuation and dispersion for reliable signal transmission. Accurate geometric dimensions of fiber ribbons for efficient splicing. Excellent temperature stability and flame retardancy.

Customizable fiber counts and armoring options to meet specific project requirements. In summary, GYDTS optical cable combines high-density ribbon fibers, loose-tube flexibility, and armored protection, making it a robust solution for outdoor and high-capacity fiber optic networks.
