The cable tray cover can t be closed

A cable tray cover may not close due to misalignment, improper fastening, or material deformation, and resolving it typically involves checking tray alignment, securing fasteners, or using appropriate fixing methods.Common Causes
  1. Loose or Improper Fastening: Covers may not snap into place or screws may be inadequately tightened, preventing the cover from seating properly .
  2. Uneven Joints: Misalignment at tray connection points can create gaps or unstable surfaces, making it difficult to close the cover .
  3. Mechanical Impact or External Forces: Human contact, construction activity, or vibrations can dislodge or misalign the cover .
  4. Material Deformation: Aging, UV exposure, humidity, or temperature changes can make plastic or low-grade metal covers brittle or warped, hindering closure .
  5. Corrosion: In aggressive environments, metal components may corrode, weakening the fixing mechanism and preventing proper closure .
Solutions and Fixing Methods

There are several ways to secure cable tray covers effectively :

  • Pressing Plate Fixing: Punch holes in the cover and use a pressure plate to secure it with screws. Works for horizontal or vertical installations.
  • Screw Fastening: Use screws or rotating plate buckles to attach the cover to the tray. Suitable for both horizontal and vertical setups.
  • Buckle Fixing: Bend folds at the ends of the cover to clip it onto the tray. Best for horizontal installations; vertical setups may be less secure.
  • Padlock or Seven-Shaped Buckle Fixing: Provides additional security in high-risk or outdoor environments.
Preventive Measures
  • Ensure tray sections are properly aligned before installing the cover.
  • Use appropriate fasteners and tighten them according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Inspect covers regularly for wear, corrosion, or deformation.
  • For outdoor installations, consider wind load and environmental factors when selecting cover type and fastening method.
  • If using software like Revit for modeling, note that standard families may not include lids; creating a custom family or separate lid model may be necessary for accurate representation . By addressing alignment, fastening, and material integrity, most issues with cable tray covers not closing can be resolved safely and effectively.

Magnus pro XL cable tray can''t close due to monitor cables

I just set mine up last week. I noticed it won''t close if I ran the cables directly behind it. (In between the monitor mount and tray cover)
