Price of frameless network racks

Frameless network racks typically range from £100 to £400 for standard wall-mounted or floor-standing models, depending on size, material, and features.

Overview

Frameless network racks are designed to hold IT equipment such as servers, switches, and patch panels without a fully enclosed frame, offering easier access and improved airflow. Prices vary based on height (U units), depth, load capacity, and additional features like lockable doors, ventilated panels, and cable management.

Typical Price Ranges

Small wall-mounted racks (6U–12U): £100–£200, suitable for small offices or workgroups. Medium floor-standing racks (18U–24U): £200–£300, often with adjustable mounting rails and basic ventilation. Large floor-standing racks (30U–47U): £300–£400+, designed for data centers with higher load capacity and optional accessories.

Factors Affecting Price

Material and Build Quality: Steel or aluminum construction, thickness, and anti-static coatings influence cost. Load Capacity: Racks rated for heavier equipment (up to 600–1000 kg) are more expensive. Accessories: Ventilated doors, cable management bars, and PDUs can increase the price.

Brand and Supplier: Premium brands like APC, RackyRax, and Startech may cost more than generic options.
