How to install the sealing plug in the distribution box

Insert the sealing plug into the distribution box hole, ensuring proper orientation, and secure it flush with the cavity using the provided nut or pressure method.

Step-by-

Step Installation1. Identify the Correct Hole and Plug Size Determine which inlet or outlet hole in the distribution box will receive the sealing plug. For Polylok distribution boxes, select the appropriate hole and tear the seal to match the pipe size if using a 4” seal, or use the pre-cut 6” seal for 6” pipes.

For DEUTSC

H plugs, ensure the rear grommet of the connector matches the smaller end of the plug. 2.

Prepare the Seal

For Polylok 4” seals: Insert a key or similar object into the tear tab and tear along the lines to fit the pipe size. Do not cut the seal. For corrugated pipes, carefully cut between raised ribs on the back of the seal before insertion.

For DEUTSC

H plugs: Check that the plug is clean and free of debris before insertion. 3.

Insert the Plug

Push the smaller end of the plug into the hole or grommet from the inside of the box or connector. Ensure the plug is oriented correctly; for Polylok seals smaller than 4”, the seal must face the right side up. 4.

Secure the Plug

For Polylok seals: Screw the nut onto the seal from the outside of the box to hold it in place.

For DEUTSC

H plugs: Apply pressure to the large end until it reaches the stop and is flush with the cavity opening. 5. Insert the Pipe (if applicable) Push the pipe through the installed seal, ensuring a snug fit and proper alignment.

6. Verify Installation Check that the plug or seal is flush with the box or connector surface, properly oriented, and securely fastened. Ensure there are no gaps that could allow water, dust, or contaminants to enter.

Additional Tips

Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for the specific plug or seal type. For outdoor or industrial distribution boxes, ensure the enclosure meets the required IP rating (e.g., IP66 or IP67) to maintain protection against dust and water ingress. Maintain clear working space around the box to allow proper installation and future maintenance.

By following these steps, the sealing plug will be properly installed, ensuring a secure and reliable seal in your distribution box.
